Werribee Softball Association

Werribee Softball Association was established in 1979 to accommodate the 2 girl’s teams that had to travel to Geelong each week to play softball.

A meeting was organised with the parents and relevant authorities to form the teams to participate, was responsible for the foundation of the Association. At this time females only were allowed to play. Men were admitted to the game in 1987.

The Association started with 7 clubs and played behind the Werribee High School for 2 years before moving to an area between the Werribee Racecourse and the Recreation Centre.

In 1993 the Association moved to Presidents Park where today we now have 11 permanent diamonds.

In 2009, in partnership with council, the association finished the skinning of all 11 diamonds with 10 diamonds now fenced to International standards. 2011 saw the Council build and open our new club rooms and install seating at D1 and D4 along with a new car park.

The association boasts a great number of accredited umpires, coaches and scorers.

We also have supplied a great number of representatives to International, National and State teams in our short but proud history.
