The Softball Victoria Hall of Fame is awarded in recognition of oustanding achievement in softball.
To be eligible for admission to the Hall of Fame a nominee must have been a player, umpire, team official or administrator who has satisfied the following criteria:
Where a player, the nominee must have:
played for at least 10 years for Victoria at an open age level;
retired from playing at State level and been retired for at least 5 years;
achieved a level of performance which has brought credit to him/herself as a player; and
conducted him/herself on and off the field in a manner which would cause others in the sport to look upon them as role model with a distinguished career.
Where an umpire, the nominee must have:
umpired in at least 7 national open age championships over a 10 year period;
retired from umpiring at national open age championships and been retired for at least 5 years;
made a significant contribution to the development of umpiring in Victoria; and
conducted him/herself on and off the field in a manner which would cause others in the sport to look upon them as a role model with a distinguished career.
Where a coach, the nominee must have:
coached Victorian State teams in national open age championships for at least 7 years over a 10 year period, or in National under age championships for at least 10 years over a 15 year period;
retired from coaching in national championships and been retired for at least 5 years;
made a significant contribution to the development of coaching in Victoria; and
conducted him/herself on and off the field in a manner which would cause others in the sport to look upon them as a role model with a distinguished career.
Where a team official, scorer or manager, the nominee must have:
represented Victoria at open age or under age national championships for at least 10 years over a 15 year period;
retired from representing Victoria in national championships and been retired for at least 5 years;
made a significant contribution to the development of the sport of softball in Victoria in the area of their expertise; and
conducted him/herself on and off the field in a manner which would cause others in the sport to look upon them as a role model with a distinguished career.
Nominees for admission to the Hall of Fame may be accepted as being eligible for consideration if they have met the above criteria (excluding time based criteria) in more than 1 category and the cumulative time in all categories satisfies the most onerous of the time criteria in those categories.
