An Optometry degree trains you in the vital skills needed to be an optometrist - an eye specialist. This means that you will look at correct ways to examine the eyes, give you the skills to identify abnormalities and diagnose diseases, as well as being trained to fit and prescribe different lenses.
NOTE - Optometry is different from opthamology, which is where you perform surgery on the eyes.
