Field Day 1/25/2020

Field Day is ham radio's "Open House". Hams set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio's science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event in the U.S. since 1933, and remains the most popular event in ham radio.

Our winter Field day was held Saturday, January 25, 2020. The Anthem Ham Radio Club conducted their annual winter emergency radio drill in conjunction with the Henderson Radio Club. Twelve Anthem members were joined by twenty-one Henderson members, a regional representative of ARRL, and twelve guests as the clubs made contacts across the North American continent. The highlight of the day was one ham using CW(Morse code) who made five contacts in France and one in Venezuela! Lunch was Domino's pizza and soft drinks which were provided by the clubs. Our next Field day will be HAMM FEST on June 27, 2020. Look for our separate web page with details on HAMM FEST.

Our next Winter Field Day will be Saturday, December 26, 2020, 6:30am-7:00pm at the Liberty Center.
