Listen to Mr. Glapa's recommendations

I love going to the beach in the summer.  The sand beneath your toes and the waves crashing up to shore are a few of the many things that take me there.  My story There Might Be Lobsters reminds me of trips there.  Sukie is afraid of everything.  But with her faithful girl Eleanor, and her beloved stuffed monkey by her side, maybe - just maybe - she can overcome her fears. You will be surprised about just who Suki is.   Read to see if she overcomes her fears.

Read Aloud K-1.  Read to Self 2nd grade and up.

I chose this book for my summer reading recommendation because I love how it shows the lifecycle of a frog, including great facts and pictures.  Also, if you go outside and find a pond or creek, you may be able to find frogs in these stages!

I recommend any of the stories written by Wisconsin author, Kevin Henkes. He has written a variety of stories that will appeal primarily to readers 4K-2nd grade, but can truly be enjoyed by anyone. Kevin Henkes' books often include subtle kid-friendly humor, warm sentiment, and relatable characters.

This is a book I would recommend for K-2; it can be read aloud or in your head.  I love this book because the words are fun to say out loud, and it's about dancing through the seasons.
