Idea Foundry is a makerspace that strives to make a place that is:

Open for All

Key Features:

• Interspersed lounge areas with mismatched furniture

• Interspersed workspace areas that accomadate a variety of making: wood, metal, office, sewing, etc.

• A large event space featuring social stairs

• Exposed wood rafters

Key Guiding Principles:

• Idea Foundry aims to host a variety of creative makers

• Idea Foundry prioritizes sharing of space, tools, and knowledge

Based on these elements, we define Idea Foundry as a place that is Universal.

• Idea Foundry makes space for everyone. 

• Because the space sees a wide range of groups, from big to small, rooms are vast, open, and accessible to everyone.

• However, spaces are sometimes underutilized

• Idea Foundry's interior consists of exposed infrastructure that could be described as 'unfinished'. How can we make 210 feel universal even if parts of the space are left 'unfinished' at the end of the summer?
