Tree Mapping

Very few of our local historic trees are logged on the Woodland Trust database. They are completely unprotected. You can help to preserve them by mapping. 

What to do

Use the drop downs below. You will need to download the apps and sign up to the "Ancient Tree Inventory" on the Woodland Trust website.

Areas 10 to 22 are our next target. 

An online version of the map can be viewed on QGIS.

Warm clothes, waterproofs, boots, gloves, and a snack

It needs to be at least 4m in length, ideally a surveyor tape on a real like these (under £15.00)

You will need a fully charged smartphone with inbuilt camera. Most networks have reception in Contin woods.

PlantNet | Simple app that allows you to identify plants and trees (take a photo et voila!)
