5 minutes with Randy Massamba

Randy has been scoring for fun with the 1st year soccer team. Below is a 5 minutes with Randy interview.

How did you first get into playing soccer, and what do you enjoy most about the sport?

Playing since 7, I enjoy scoring, dribbling and running fast.

What does it mean to you to be a part of the school soccer team?

Enjoy the craic, I like pushing myself to the best I can be.

What position do you play, and what do you like most about your role on the team?

Striker, I love attacking, getting the ball back from opponents and most importantly scoring.

How do you and your teammates support each other during matches?

Most of the time my teammates rely on me to score.

Do you have any pre-game rituals or routines that help you get ready for matches?

First thing when I  wake up in the morning I put on my body warmer then I put on my PE tracksuit then walk to school then I wait for the time to leave class to get on the bus.

Can you tell us about a particularly exciting or memorable match you've played with the school team?

This was the first proper match i ever played in my life. I felt proud after scoring a hatrick.

Do you have any soccer players you look up to or consider as your role models?

CR7, he is the best.

Do you have any specific goals you want to achieve with the school team?

Win a cup, be top scorer.

What do you enjoy most about being part of a team?

I enjoy when we all try our best, even if we are losing we never give up. 

Besides soccer, what are some of your favourite things to do for fun?

Basketball.
