A big win for our u16 boys

St. Paul's under 16 boys showcased resilience and determination in their hard-fought victory against a formidable Kildare Town CS side. Despite facing a tough challenge in the first half, where KTCS demonstrated dominance for much of the opening 25 minutes, St. Paul's defence held strong with Killian Christie being the standout performer, limiting the damage to just three points between the sides in that period. Sean Murphy's produced a moment of brilliance, with a well worked goal, levelling the game just before halftime. 1-1 to 0-4.

In the second half, St. Paul's lifted the intensity and energy levels, led by Darragh Whyte (on for 2nd half), Sean Murphy, Scott Lavin, Killian Reilly, Daire Bannon and Cormac Clifford.

Despite initially falling behind by two points in the opening minutes of the 2nd half, missing a penalty and another goal chance brilliantly saved by KTCS goalkeeper. St Pauls kept going and their persistence eventually paid off with neat points from Darragh Whyte and Sam Rainbow to keep in touch. With 15 minutes remaining, a goal was brilliantly orchestrated by Killian Reilly and Cormac Clifford to go 3 points ahead. This moment of brilliance ignited a surge of belief when it seemed it was going 'one of those days' for St Pauls.

In the final stretch, Scott Lavin and Daniel Geoghegan exhibited exceptional quality with Daniel creating and Scott finishing the goals to pull away in the last 10 minutes. It was a very hard fought victory for St. Paul's that tested St Pauls character and resolve.

Final score of 5 - 5 points to 8 points.

The boys can now look forward to a South Leinster final  to be played in the coming weeks.
