Anglican Benedictine Monastic Life

at St. Mark's Abbey, Camperdown, Victoria, Australia.

The monastic life brings the whole of one’s being into a harmony by which we strive to live out St. Benedict’s precept:

‘Let them prefer nothing whatever to Christ, and may he bring us all together to everlasting life.’

The monastic life is a challenging life of prayer, commitment, love, work, generosity and joy.

God the Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ calls men and women to consecrate themselves to his service in this way.

Monastic life is not an easy option, but those whom God calls he also enables and as love grows so life blossoms into fullness in the joy of response to our loving Father.
