Most cities have buildings which locals consider a crowning glory. They are prominent landmarks which have been a source of pride and inspiration for architecture enthusiasts. According to main street advisor Steven Rindner, while New York has a lot of popular architectural marvels, its neighbor New Jersey has quite a few of its own as well. If you’re looking for great architectural sites in New Jersey, here are some popular buildings to look out for.
26 Journal Square: Located at Hudson County, this 55m high-rise was completed over 90 years ago and is considered to be New Jersey’s very first skyscraper. It was designed by John T. Rowland and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It was originally used as the headquarters for the Labor National Bank.
30 Hudson Street: Also known as Goldman Sachs Tower, 30 Hudson Street is the tallest building in New Jersey with 42 floors. It was completed in 2004 and was designed by Cesar Pelli. The building is complete with a health unit, fitness facilities, even a physical therapy clinic. 30 Hudson Street offers its occupants a great view of the Hudson River and Lower Manhattan.
Liberty View Towers: The Liberty View Towers consists of two apartment complexes, namely Liberty Towers East, and Liberty Towers West. Both have 37 floors and are both tied as New Jersey’s 37th tallest buildings. The entire complex was finished in 2003 and currently holds 648 units in total. According to Steven Rindner, the complex is unique considering its size for a residential project.
