I’m Steven Rindner, known around New Jersey as the Main Street Advisor. I’m into real estate development and I love sharing what I know to many of the young aspiring developers in the Garden State.
The other day while I was having coffee with some other developers from nearby counties, we got to talking about how our usual days go. And it’s funny that we do so many of the same things at the same time. You could say we all have the same day.
We start our day early. Jerry, the developer from Bergen County runs at least 30 minutes on his treadmill. Milayne from Middlesex County, does pilates. I run a short 3k around the neighborhood. After that, we usually check the real estate news in New Jersey and we scan for businesses opening in and around the area.
We leave the home at usually the same time, although Milayne still takes her kids to school, before we all head to our project sites. There, we talk to key people such as the construction manager and foreman. We learn about new obstacles and talk about how to deal with them.
On some days, we even visit city and county offices to talk to building and health inspectors, but those days aren’t too frequent. What’s frequent is how we go around our respective counties doing research and searching for sites for future projects.
I guess the days of real estate developers are all similar.
