Parking garages nowadays are no longer places where people can just park their cars and leave. Today, thanks to the forward thinking of developers and architects, parking garage buildings have evolved. Residential and commercial spaces are being added to these structures, making them busier than they’ve ever been.
Developers, architects, designers, and engineers have all seen just how in-demand parking garages can be. And with that, it has become easy to find ways to add to these buildings, mainly by constructing places where one can gain access to business establishment as well as residences.
However, Main Street Advisor Steven Rindnernotes that to convert a parking garage to a mixed-use property, a lot of planning has to be done. First off, the design has to be top-notch in order to provide adequate space for either living or running a business. With a good design, it’s easy to include office spaces and condominium units, or even recreational areas for people who will be frequenting the area.
