WILLIAM'S DEATH
Chapter VI
"...William is dead! — that sweet child, whose smiles delighted and warmed my heart, who was so gentle, yet so gay! Victor, he is murdered!" -Alphonse Frankenstein in a letter to Victor, "Geneva, May 12th, 17—" (p. 46)
Alphonse tried to keep William's death a secret from Elizabeth to avoid upsetting her, but his body was brought home and she fainted upon sight of him. (p. 47)
In the movie, the Monster murdered William and the family formed a search party. Elizabeth carried his body back in her arms with Victor kneeling to the ground and wailing.
