Victor delved into the super into supernatural, angels, demons, medieval beliefs about magic, the philosopher's stone and elixir, natural sciences were a secondary special interest. Cornelius Agrippa, Albertus Magnus and Paracelsus were like gods to him, his heroes and he was obsessed with their theories on the occult. He was inspired by their works, enough to believe he could find a solution to end human illness and even death. However, in the movie, he was just fascinated by electricity. He became inspired after the death of his mother, Caroline Beaufort.
