THE END

Both novel and film ended with the Monster mourning Victor's death, although the film put an end to the Monster's story. Deciding he was done with humans, revulsed by the abomination of his existence as well as his treatment, rejection by society and witness to moral corruption, he gave Victor a Viking-style funeral and burned with him.
