1-Kick-off meeting and team building (21/4/2025-26/4/2025) Lokeren/Belgium
The Kick-off Meeting and Team Building activity was successfully implemented in Lokeren, Belgium, between 21 and 26 April 2025. The activity was carried out in accordance with the structure, objectives, and content described in the approved project application. During the meeting, project partners established a shared understanding of the project’s goals and expected outcomes, strengthened cooperation and communication among consortium members, clarified roles and responsibilities, and agreed on effective collaboration and management procedures for the project implementation. Through team-building activities and working sessions, a strong foundation for partnership cooperation was created, ensuring a common vision and coordinated approach for the successful implementation of STEMLinguia.
The activity was implemented over five days and included:
Team-building and icebreaker activities in Ghent and Brugge, which successfully fostered interpersonal connections, trust, and a collaborative atmosphere among participants.
Project planning and partner presentations, including institutional introductions, clarification of roles and responsibilities, review of the project description, timeline planning, and discussion of future mobilities, fully corresponding to Day 2 of the planned activity.
Classroom observations and peer-led STEM activities at Vrije Basisschool Veertjesplein, offering practical insight into STEM teaching approaches and classroom management. Although the original plan foresaw a dedicated sustainability and inclusion workshop, these themes were instead embedded within real classroom practice, where partners observed and led STEM activities integrating learner-centred approaches.
Professional and European-level learning experiences, including a visit to the Brussels Future Classroom Lab and the European Parliament, which strengthened the innovative and European dimension of the project and went beyond the originally planned content by providing additional contextual learning.
A hands-on STEM focus through the visit to the Legolab at VLOT Lokeren, which aligned with the project’s STEM objectives and enriched the kick-off programme with practical exposure to robotics and applied STEM education.
