There were many teaching and presentation activities throughout the course of my studies. Both these teaching and presenting opportunities were completed independently or within groups.
These opportunities provide me with insight, knowledge and understanding required for best possible care and health outcomes for patients. My perspective and clinical judgment were challenged throughout, thereby shifting my practise for safety and quality nursing practises.
HSNS 167- Foundations of Nursing : Theory of Practice
In this first year of nursing unit , we were required within groups to create an educational presentation on any topic. My group and I presented our classmates with a presentation on the importance of effective communication. The modes of communication and barriers to communication within the clinical settings were highlighted
HSNS 161- Foundations of Nursing: Integrated Care Concepts
For this first year of nursing unit, I independetly developed a poster regarding healthy eating and excising. The aim of the poster was to educate the audience of the importance of balance when it comes to diet and excise. I discussed of the badvatanges of both diet and exercise on the health and wellbeing of individuals. I also revealed the negative consequences which can occur from a lack or inadequate of both.
HSNS 368- Professional Practice: Context of Acute Care
I attended a clinical placement at Yass District Hospital in November and I was required to develop a poster presentation to present to the nursing staff. My educational presentation poster was based on acute coronary syndrome. I displayed my poster and discussed in depth about acute coronary syndrome (ACS) with the nursing staff. I discussed of the pathway for acute coronary syndrome assessment (PACSA), which indicates how to appropriately assess and manage individuals presenting with signs and symptoms of ACS
HLTH 330- Health Promotion in Practice
This unit required students to allocate themselves into groups to produce a powerpoint presentation on any topic. Red Aware was a topic my group and I selected. This presentation discussed the impacts of sexual health on the overall health and wellbeing of individuals.
