One day, when Alistair was on his way to the library to return his library books, he was picked up by an alien spaceship and whisked off into space! We will dramatize Alistair’s exciting adventure in outer space and might even make it back to Earth before the library closes.

Who can convince the cranky stubborn sun to set? Will it be the poet, the astronaut, the chef, the scientist, or maybe a new character we create?

We will add color back into the world as we pretend to be the four musicians of the sun.
Moonbear’s Shadow by Frank Asch (recommended for ages 5-9)
Poor Moonbear can’t get rid of his shadow. In this workshop, we will learn all about how the sun makes shadows. Then, we will make our own shadows come to life as we act out this funny Moonbear story.
Mooncake by Frank Asch (recommended for ages 3 - 8)
In this workshop we will journey to the “moon” (just like Moonbear) so we can try our very own bite of mooncake.
Otter in Space by Sam Garton (recommended for ages 5 - 8)
When Otter can’t get a ride to the museum to buy a moon rock, he decides to blast off to the moon itself! We will make our own space suit, train for our space mission, and visit the “moon” in this exciting tale about imagination!
Papa, Please Get the Moon for Me by Eric Carle (recommended for ages 3 - 8)
We will learn all about the phases of the moon and will even make our own moon to help us act out this classic story.
The Story of the Milky Way by Joseph Bruchac (recommended for ages 6 - 9)
We will make noisemakers to help us retell this Cherokee legend of how the Milky Way came to be.
War of the Worlds by HG Wells/Orson Welles (recommended for ages 8 - 14)
In this multi-hour or multi-day workshop, participants will imagine and dramatize what was playing out in the minds of millions of listeners the night Orson Welles performed his War of the Worlds broadcast.
NOTE: Multi-day option is only available to locations within a 15 mile radius of Plainsboro, NJ.
Zoom! Zoom! Zoom! I’m Off to the Moon! by Dan Yaccarino (recommended for ages 0 - 6)
Put on your space suit and let’s zoom to the moon! In this workshop we will use our “rover” to explore the surface of the moon and will even collect some “moon rocks”!

A Universe of Songs and Rhymes (recommended for ages 0 - 5)
We will act out songs and rhymes all about space such as You Are My Sunshine, Mr. Sun, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Hey Diddle Diddle, and some new ones too!
Constellations Drama Workshop (recommended for ages 6 - 12)
After reading a story about how a constellation came to be, we will connect the dots on “star paper” to make our very own constellation. Then, we will work in groups to make up stories about our constellations and will take turns dramatizing our stories for the group.
Alien Drama Workshop (recommended for ages 6 - 12)
What do aliens look like? What do aliens sound like? What do aliens move like? We will use our imaginations to answer these questions and so much more as we take on a day in the life of an alien.
