While tourists might think that Las Vegas has a warm climate all year long because of its vicinity to desert terrains, they would be mistaken. Desert areas can be one of the harshest places during the winter. For those who are planning on visiting Las Vegas in the winter, they have to pack accordingly, notes resident Stacey Tokunaga. They also need to keep in mind that Las Vegas is no stranger to snow.

What makes Las Vegas winters harsh is the lack of humidity in the air. Because the air is dry, a cold wind can be extremely uncomfortable. And while temperatures are slowly rising, winters in Las Vegas can still be unbearable without a cardigan or a jacket.

For those who are planning on visiting the different attractions during the day, it is best to wear pants. While a jacket isn’t really needed at this point, bringing a compact one won’t hurt, points out Stacey Tokunaga. Since it is still Las Vegas, always wear something comfortable as tourists usually tend to walk long distances between one tourist spot to the other.

The night out is what a lot of Las Vegas visitors look forward to. This is where it gets tricky, though. For those who are going to indoor clubs, these places are usually well-heated, especially the popular ones. Women can wear whatever they want. But if they plan on doing a club crawl or visiting multiple places at night at the Las Vegas strip, then perhaps wearing thermal leggings with the dress and jacket would be apt, adds Stacey Tokunaga.
