Concert Band students should be aiming for 15-30 minutes of practise 5 times a week - pick a time that works for your family and stick with it - you will see the benefits in no time!

NOTE TO PARENTS:
As parents, you don’t need to be a musician or have any musical training in order to help with your child's practice. Encouragement on their efforts and progress at home and helping them to persevere with the regular practise when the practise gets tough is hugely important and can make all the difference to your child's enjoyment of the program, not to mention their success on their instrument.
The number one thing you can do to help your child achieve success and enjoy the band program is to encourage a regular practise routine. Studies have proven that a child who practises a minimum of 3 or 4 times per week is far more likely to love music and succeed than one who rarely practices at all, or practices sporadically.
At Concert Band level students learning a musical instrument should be practising 20-25 minutes of practice on the majority of days. The important thing however is making sure that practice is regular and consistent from week to week - it is the regularity of the practice that makes the real difference.
This is our newest piece. Some students were unfamiliar with the song from 'The Lion King' so you can listen to it by clicking here.
STAR WARS - pull this one out from time to time so you don't get rusty!
JURASSIC PARK - continue with this one - we always like to come back to it
Choose a challenge on the 'St Pat's Practice Mission' sheet and make it your mission to practice these holidays!
Colour in the challenge box as you complete each one, have a parent/guardian sign off when you practice and bring it back to band rehearsal next term.
