Hi! I'm Julianne, a fourth year double major in Physics specializing in Astrophysics and in Cognitive Science specializing in Design & Interaction in Sixth College. I am currently working with astrophysical masers and what they can tell us about galaxy evolution. If I'm not in front of my notes confusedly looking at some terribly-written scribbles, you might find me at some random mountain or beach or cave or canyon or whatever.
Bonjour! My name is Théo Heron. I’m a rising fourth-year Physics student interested in materials science and exploring how science can benefit ecology. I’m passionate about battery technology research being done to improve battery efficiency. This has fueled my interest in physics.
Heyo! I'm a Senior Revellian majoring in Physics with a specialization in Astrophysics. All of the unresolved mysteries in physics and astronomy fascinate me, especially regarding planetary astrophysics and asteroseismology. Outside of classes, I play piano, practice karate, and play some Nintendo games. Huge Legend of Zelda fan here.
Hi! I am Ashna Shiva, I am a third year physics major in ERC. I love reading and being surrounded by books. So much so that I spend a good amount of time volunteering at a bookstore on campus. I also love the sea and everything to do with it.
Hi everyone! I'm Stephen, a BS physics/astrophysics major with an interest in dark matter and its role in galactic formation and how it shapes the large-scale structure of the universe. I also play basketball and produce various forms of music. I look forward to participating in the SPS Media Team!
Hi I am Eric, a first-year from ERC majoring in astrophysics. I really enjoy learning about data processing and astrophotography. Beyond being a huge nerd for physics, I am also a huge nerd for music and film. I play double bass and guitar during my free time and would love any song recs and movie recs!
I'm an undergraduate student interested in understanding the foundations of mathematics and physics. Throughout history, many major breakthroughs have come from questioning well-established ideas, and I believe that focusing on what seems simple or mundane can actually lead to meaningful progress. During my free time I might paint or play my guitar. My favorite game is geometry dash. The sleepy kid of my picture is my brother. We were at San Pedro Mártir National Astronomical Observatory (OAN-SPM).
Hi! I'm Charlotte and I'm a rising second year majoring in biophysics in Revelle. In my free time I like drawing, swimming, playing videos games, and collecting random thickets for my desk.
Hello! My name is Jennifer. I'm a first-year majoring in Astrophysics and Astronomy in Revelle College. I got into this major because of a cartoon character, and space seemed pretty interesting. I love bingeing shows. I may have a problem, but please recommend me some.
Hey! My name is Ishaan I'm a rising fourth-year Physics major. When I'm not behind on assignments I'm probably looking for my next indie game to play or trying out a new recipe in the kitchen(and likely failing)
Hey! My name is Lauren Cadle, and I am a rising third year Astrophysics major in Muir college. I’m from Northern Virginia, and I’m also a barista back at home (ask me for my coffee recipes)! Right now I am doing research in particle physics and am on Project Daedalus in the Rocket Propulsion Lab (RPL)! You can find me wandering campus with a coffee in my hand, or “studying” with friends in Geisel. I love to read, try new cafes, go to the beach, and hang out with my friends 😀
Hey there! I’m a third-year physics major at Muir with a planned minor in math. I am involved in AMO research at Barreiro Lab, and I hope to one day get a PhD! Some of my hobbies are playing chess and video games.
Hi! I’m Jacob, and I am a third year Physics major and ICAM minor from Warren College. When I’m not studying, I play oboe in various ensembles in and around UCSD. I also love to play tennis and ping pong, and make sticky note art on my window!
Hi, I'm Justin and I'm a third year majoring in Chemical Engineering. I am currently interested in condensed matter physics and astrochemistry, as well as exploring applications of physics ideas in fields that don't historically involve it much. Here is a list of normal people things I like to do/talk about: Bees, beach volleyball, hiking, eating vegetables, sleeping, coffee, doomscrolling, cooking, reading, ice skating, cats, running, listen to and play music, lying.
Hi, I'm Roxanne! I'm a first year Physics major with a specialization in Computational Physics. When I'm not in class or studying you can find me hanging out with friends, singing, dancing, and cooking!
Hi! I'm Coco, a first year physics student in ERC with a specialization in biophysics. I'm from Shanghai and grew up in Seoul, and I am interested in bioengineering and the medical applications of physics and engineering. I love spicy food, k-dramas, and slow and calm music :))
Hi! My name is Abby Lee and I’m a first year studying physics at Warren. In my free time, I love to go to the beach, try out new restaurants, and take film photos. I'm so excited to meet everyone at future SPS events!
Hello! I'm Minnie, I am a fourth-year physics major with a minor in economics. I'm interested in the various applications of physics from ocean sciences to economics. In my free time, I like cooking, playing card/board games and annoying my foster cat. If you see me on campus, I probably won't see you because I'm not wearing my glasses.
Hi! My name is Ru, and I'm a fourth year majoring in Physics with a Specialization in Astrophysics, and double minoring in Computer Science/Engineering and Astronomy and Astrophysics! I work with Dr. George Fuller's research group, focusing on the black hole dynamics in young stellar clusters and the nature of dark matter! Hi! I’m a rising second-year Astronomy and Astrophysics major at Revelle minoring in Chemistry. In my free time, I love building stuff and doing taekwondo.
Nice to meet you! My name is Peera. I’m a third year physics major with specialization in astrophysics. I love everything space related, especially black holes! Outside of school, I produce music, write, and tend to my non-profit organization. I am passionate about DEI which is a major reason why I wanted to join ARMS. My biggest goals in life are to not only contribute to the scientific and artistic worlds, but also to create a more equitable one.
Hi, I’m Quinn, new member of the ARMS team! I’m part of the first cohort of Astronomy & Astrophysics as a major, with an additional interest in several other subjects. I really love space and sci-fi/fantasy, but I also try to stay down to earth with art, activism, and baking. My goal in SPS is to help make physics (and STEM as a whole) more welcoming. There’s a lot of media and hobbies out there that I like, and I LOVE to talk, so I’m always happy to chat!
Hi! I am Shree, I am second year Physics major specialization in Astrophysics in Seventh College. I am from Dubai and am currently doing research in the OIRLAB where I mostly work with astronomical observations and data analysis. I am currently interested in Astrophysics but I love exploring other specializations too! Outside of academics, I like painting, traveling, playing music, reading and picking up random hobbies cause I cannot sit still.
I have always known that physics was the answer to everything I had a question about. Though at some point I might have questions beyond, it is always a good baseline for me.
My name is Julian Jackson and I'm apart of the SPS ARMS Team! I'm a multifaceted Astrophysics major that's heavily involved around campus and the broader San Diego community. I stargaze in my free time, have been heavily involved in my African American identity through clubs and have had the honor of giving my own TED talk discussing my story with others who come from similar backgrounds. My goal and where most of my research lies is to discover more about Black Holes later in my career, specifically in relation to how they form!
