The SPSAS on Atmospheric Aerosols will be held at the Institute of Physics of the University of Sao Paulo (IFUSP), Brazil. We will use the Abrahão de Moraes Auditorium (see map below), which is at walking distance from nearby bus stations. The poster sections will be held near to the course site.

About the Physics Institute

The Institute of Physics of USP (www.if.usp.br) is the oldest and largest institution of research and teaching of Physics in Brazil. It has more than 225 researchers, including 159 professors, in addition to 400 graduate students and 1,200 undergraduates. It has 304 employees as administrative or technical staff, some with doctorate or master's degree.

The six departments that compose the institute carry out research activities in a variety of fields, with a high standard of academic excellence, covering the main topics of contemporary physics, from elementary particles to galaxies, from atoms and molecules to condensed matter, from biophysics to atmospheric physics, to name a few.

The Institute's professors are responsible for teaching theoretical or laboratory classes for about three thousand USP students in the areas of engineering, exact sciences, and biology. Each year about 120 physicists graduate, and about 35 masters and 33 doctors conclude their research.

About the University of Sao Paulo
