The library media program provides appropriate, accurate, and current resources in all formats to meet the needs of the learning community.
Weeding has been done based on planned, deliberate weeding program based on the Titlewise Analysis of the collection. When Mrs. Friday took over the collection was exceptionally large and outdated. Based on the Titlewise suggestions, circulation statistics, relevance, wear and tear, and a knowledge of what students would take off the shelf, Mrs. Friday went shelf-by-shelf through the entire collection to pair down to what our students needed.
Our current weeding routine is to evaluate books as they are returned to check for wear and tear and weed from there. We also go shelf-by-shelf as new titles arrive to make room for the new books and prevent overcrowding on our shelves.
All weeding uses the CREW method.
