We have 430 ash trees on public property in Golden, plus many more on private properties. Ash trees make up approximately 15% of the overall tree canopy. The City of Golden recommends treating, removing, or replacing trees affected by the Emerald Ash Borer. We advocate that the City replace every Ash tree removed in SoGo with a new tree in the same or a nearby location.
Additionally, Xcel Energy has expressed its intention to remove or fatally damage many trees in our neighborhood.Â
