South Golden Road is the only entrance to the city that does not have traffic calming or speed reducing measures. The posted speed limit, 35 miles per hour, is among the highest in the city. The posted speed is frequently exceeded because the road is an open straightaway between the round abouts.Â
Key issues include:
Reduce the speed limit from 35 mph to 20 miles per hour (20 is plenty, after all)
Add speed limit signs and crosswalk signs
Construct traffic calming measures that effectively reduce speeds
Increase enforcement
