Music CDs

I like "It's A Hit" and "Textbook" and "Worth the Wait"

Apparently it's copy protected? Didn't stop me.

• If I'm reading the back graphic right, you can make three copies of it? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the copy protection if you CAN COPY IT?

  • Not that I'm complaining

Discogs link

I like "Goodnight Goodnight" and "Island Of The Honest Man" and "Middle Of Nowhere"

It's cool

It's Hot Hot Heat, a band you may or may not have heard of

Fun elevator references

• Track list is in reverse order, with 15 at the top and 1 at the bottom

• There is no track 13

Now I just need Make Up The Breakdown (their previous album) for "Bandages" and "Talk To Me, Dance With Me"

Discogs link (exactly matches variant 3)

I like "On And On" and "Six Minutes" and "Civil Sin" and "Showdown"

It's cool

It's Boy Kill Boy, a band you may or may not have heard of

It has a "PROMO COPY - NOT FOR SALE" sticker on the back which I don't think matches anything on Discogs

• It's in a normal jewel case, it is pretty normal otherwise, it's from the UK, and it says "PROMO ONLY"

The text codes for wallpapers and "realtones" unfortunately don't still work 20 years after release

Now I just need The Stars And The Sea (their next album) for "No Conversation"

Discogs link

I saw it at the record store and I have it on cassette so I thought it would be funny to also have it on CD and also I spent a lot of time at the record store and didn't see anything else and it doesn't feel good to walk out with nothing to show for it and also it might be rude

I mean

• I like it

  • But I don't really have any songs other than Beds Are Burning on my playlists, which I already had with 20,000 Watts R.S.L. (↓ Below ↓)

It's technically a reissue but it's still old ass because it has the type of label where you just see the silver shiny data part on top with words over it because it's the 80s and that was the style of the time, also it doesn't have any IFPI codes so it came out between 1988 (album release) and 1994 (IFPI introduced)

At least it wasn't loudness war'd

Discogs link

I like "Safe and Sound" and "Kangaroo Court"

Most people probably only know "Safe and Sound", since that one was big on the radio (number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100), but I have an affinity for the failed follow-up "Kangaroo Court" (I believe Todd In The Shadows recommended it? I forget)

I have put it in a jewel case because I don't like digipaks

• Why does the DELUXE EDITION come in a digipak? I feel like the deluxe edition should have the privilege of a real case

$5.49 at Half Price Books (I believe it was like 10 or 20% off day), a little steep for two songs but I like the two songs a good amount

Discogs link

I like it

It's cool

You can tell people know who The Fashion is because there isn't an image for the US CD, their Wikipedia article is two paragraphs and a discography, and they only lasted 9 years

I think I have the Denmark Epic Digipak unless this is an undocumented US release

• I have put it in a jewel case because i do not like digipaks

Also I didn't realize until I was writing this that it doesn't include "Roller Disco Inferno" which I have on one of my playlists because Spotify showed it as part of this album even though it seems to just be a bonus track from their previous album and did not appear on all releases for some reason

• So I guess I have another CD to look out for (as if it would show up in the wild)

• yes their second album is the self titled one, no i dont know why

• Also you can tell people care about The Fashion because the Discogs for the Australian release misspells it "Boller Disco Inferno" somehow

Discogs link

I like "Semi-Charmed Life" and "The Impression That I Get" and "If You Could Only See"

• Also "How Bizarre" is cool and I respect "Wannabe"

$3.99 at Half Price Books

Apparently this is a club edition? There's only club editions listed on Discogs even though I don't personally see anything that would indicate that

Discogs link

I like "How Soon Is Now" and "Love My Way" and "Hold Me Now" and I think the "Blue Monday" is a little weird on this soundtrack and I would like "Video Killed The Radio Star" if it was the original and not the The Presidents Of The United States Of America cover not that the cover is bad but I want the original by The Buggles

$5.49 at Half Price Books

• The first copy I looked at and was gonna buy had a big gouge scratch thing in the disc and was $5.99 but that Half Price Books just happened to have a second copy

• I later found out that my local library has this one and volume two, so I could have gotten it for free, but oh well

No I haven't watched the movie and have no intention to, this is just a way to get several 80s musics

Discogs link

It's Nirvana greatest hits

I like "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Come As You Are" and "Lithium" and "In Bloom" and "Heart-Shaped Box"

• The only song it's missing for me personally is the non-acoustic version of "All Apologies"

Like $8 or something at Walmart

Discogs link

I like "Out Of Control" ("Same Direction" is cool too)

• I liked "Out Of Control" more before I found out that Ian "(30 July 1977 – 11 October 2025) was a Welsh singer, songwriter, and convicted child sex offender" Watkins was on it

$2 at Half Price Books (discounted from $5.49)

Discogs link (no I don't know why it's the Indonesian version)

I like "I Alone"

$2 at Half Price Books (discounted from $5.49)

I think this is my first "club edition" CD, maybe

• As a result, has a cool red CD tray

Discogs link

Midnight Oil compilation CD, featuring "Beds Are Burning" and "Power And The Passion" and "Blue Sky Mine" and "The Dead Heart" and "US Forces" and more

Fun fact: Midnight Oil is named after the nightly application of baby oil that keeps the lead singer's head so shiny (source)

Discogs link

It's Weezer Blue Album

I like "Buddy Holly" and "Say It Ain't So" and "In The Garage" and "Undone - The Sweater Song"

blue

Discogs link (Closest one I could find, SIDs and shit are confusing and hurt my brain)

I like "Take On Me" and "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)" and "I Ran (So Far Away)" and "Our House" and "The Safety Dance" and "She Blinded Me With Science" and "Tainted Love" and "Cars" and "Everybody Have Fun Tonight"

$6.29 at Half Price Books

Glossy McGlossyCover

Discogs link

I like "Longview" and "Basket Case" and "When I Come Around"

$8 impulse buy at Walmart

Discogs link

I like "Animal I Have Become" and "Never Too Late"

$8 impulse buy at Walmart

Discogs link

It's SOAD Hypnotize

I like it

I like System Of A Down

Apparently it "inserts into the Mezmerize package to form one cohesive package", but I couldn't figure it out

Discogs link

It's SOAD Mezmerize

I like it

I like System Of A Down

Why the hell does it open from the left and not the right

Discogs link (though mine has a sticker with the band name and album title and parental advisory over top of the man graphic) (yes I did mean "man")

It's SOAD Toxicity

I like it

I like System Of A Down

I don't know if they were having printer issues or what, but mine's cover and booklet look strange

Discogs link (seems I'm not the only one with a messed up copy)

It's SOAD self titled

I like it

I like System Of A Down

Discogs link

I like "Aroused" and "Hold Your Hand"

Thank you Forza Horizon (2012) for Tom Vek music

Discogs link

I like "The Future Of The Future (Stay Gold)"

For some reason, I guess my copy's original jewel case was broken or something, because the cover art/booklet is correct, but the back label and side are for Billy Joel's Storm Front

Discogs link

I like "Strangelove" and "Enjoy The Silence" (and also "Everything Counts" [live version included] and "Just Can't Get Enough" [not included])

For some reason, mine seems to be of Mexican origin, since it was pressed by Sonopress and has a weird mix of english and spanish text

Discogs link

I love this album

It is lovely

You should listen to it if you haven't

Thank you Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) for introducing me to this music

Personal favorite: "Giant"

DC Trip

Personal favorite: "Cups"

See also this video I made for a school project that uses several songs from this album

Discogs link (Closest one I could find, runout doesn't match exactly, but the barcode does and also the USAness)

One of those things that comes in a bag of other CDs the thrift store is trying to get rid of, but also a CD that someone would want so that they take it

I have no clue who Chris Isaak is

• apparently my dad has his own copy of this album on CD too

I think "Ohio" is about the Kent State Massacre

Daily dose of DC Trip reference: The tour guide on the DC Trip reportedly was there/saw the Kent State Massacre when it happened

Discogs link (close enough, though I don't see an IFPI code on mine anywhere)

One of those things that comes in a bag of other CDs the thrift store is trying to get rid of, but also a CD that someone would want so that they take it

I have no memory of having this CD

who the fuck is mannheim steamroller

It says 1984, Discogs says 1988, the disc has an IFPI ocde so it's at least from 1994

Discogs link

One of those things that comes in a bag of other CDs the thrift store is trying to get rid of, but also a CD that someone would want so that they take it

I have no memory of having this CD

It says 1984, and it doesn't have an IFPI code so it's from before 1994, also it says it was made in West Germany, so uh, tis old

Discogs link

Came with 3 other CDs in a bag from the thrift store

• I think the CD wanted was a Weird Al album

CD not included; just the jewel case
