Mate/Math

The Motivation

Vocabulary and Language should not be a barrier to learn mathematics. Although I consider myself bilingual, I never learned math(or any subject for that matter) in Spanish, so in hopes to broaden my range of communication this project was born.

The Project

One day at tea time in our department's library lounge, I mentioned the concern above and the next day a friend, Alden Bradford, expressed interest in starting the interface "Mate/Math" with me.

The webpage presents Spanish to English and vice versa translations for a variety of common mathematical terms. It also provides a dictionary entry for some words whenever possible.

We are aware that there is another page which has a similar purpose but we think that our poses certain advantages.

The Webpage

The dictionary can be found here and is still being edited. Please email me if you want anything in particular to be added.
