Jaye L. Derrick, Ph.D.
Dr. Derrick has moved to the University at Buffalo, where she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Community Health and Health Behavior in the School of Public Health and Health Professions. She is also affiliated with the Clinical and Research Institute on Addictions (CRIA) and the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (IAD). She is maintaining an affiliation with the University of Houston as a Research Professor in Social, Personality, and Health Psychology. Her primary research areas include (1) interdependence, the need to belong, and symbolic social bonds; (2) the influence of close relationships on self-regulation and substance use; (3) the influence of substance use on close relationship functioning and intimate partner aggression; and (4) ambulatory assessment (e.g., daily diary and EMA) research methods.
