The Social Processes Lab studies how individuals are impacted by social interactions, particularly within close relationships. Current studies include topics such as: ways in which partner interactions impact alcohol use and attempts to quit smoking; the influence of close relationship partners and larger social networks on health disparities; how loneliness influences health and well-being; where loneliness comes from and how it can be assuaged; and other related social dynamics.Â
