Ok, I'm annoyed.
This week we have seen how easy it is for Parliament to pass Legislation that forgets about some areas of our regional population - forgetting that there are zones outside of the 'rural zones' which require support, protection and fair policy, too.
I'm referring to the Bushfires Legislation Amendment Bill 2020.
This Bill was touted as protection for areas of bushfire risk, after the Inquiry into the 'Black Summer of 2019/2020'.
The Bill has been passed by the Legislative Assembly yesterday (Thursday) after amendments were introduced in the Legislative Council on Wednesday night.
This is just another piece of Law which reinforces the divide between city and country.
I have updated further the webpage to include information about the amendments and timeframes: here
