Powered by the Essence Engine 3.0, the Company of Heroes 2 series features unique mechanics that enhance tactical gameplay and reward thoughtful players. The TrueSight™ system emulates a units’ line of sight. An easy to use cover-system rewards intelligent unit placement where natural cover is present. Gameplay mechanics that reward combined arms tactics means no unit should be overlooked. Finally, realistic damage models that emulate component damage and armor penetration is here as well. Each game presents players with an uninterrupted stream of meaningful tactical choices that elevates CoH2 far above your average RTS game.
To be fair, CoH2 already has a singleplayer dynamic campaign added with the Ardennes Assault DLC. And thanks to a well designed multiplayer and skirmish lobby system, it is still very easy to get quick PvP or Cooperative games going. This project hopes to address the one aspect that is missing: persistent "grand strategy" for multiplayer.

Strategic map movement determines map selection for battles.
Persistent Commanders, upgrades and "Hero" units.
Regional characteristics determine difficulty to attack or defend a position - some territories are more heavily entrenched than others.
