Matt found inspiration for the centipede tattoo in his deep admiration for the anime Tokyo Ghoul. In the series, the centipede — prominent in one of the characters' journeys— embodied newfound strength. The symbolism resonated with Matt on a personal level. Moreover, in Japanese and Filipino cultures, centipedes hold meanings of resilience, strength, protection, and good fortune.

Although his parents were uneasy about body adornment, Matt embraced his independence upon turning 18 by gaining the courage to chart his own course. Confident in his decisions, he had the centipede tattooed boldly on his right forearm. The design reflects his aspirations for a bright future, symbolized by the good luck pose he chose for the tattoo.

In addition to his centipede tattoo, Matt expresses his individuality through piercings— adornments in his ears and above his upper lip. 

Looking ahead, he plans to add an expansive tattoo down his leg, a piece steeped in symbolism that promises to tell its own unique story.
