Looking beneath body adornment

Every piece of body art, whether it's a tattoo, implant, piercing, charring or scarring, has an interesting story behind it. There's more to them than what appears on the surface - they're deeper.

This project is to highlight the incredible range of body adornment and the stories behind them. Some are happy, some are sad, some are memories, and all are insights to the wearer who chooses to put those memories on display.

I hope you enjoy their journey and marvel at the artistry involved also.
