The following is an in-depth guide for the star cup of Super Mario Kart.
This track is basically one big circle. Here, you want to stay on the sandy areas, avoiding the leafy areas, the water, and the dark water. There is 1 shortcut, and 1 ultra shortcut If you have a feather, you can jump over the dark water after the item boxes, or you can jump over the dark water by the finish line. If you have a mushroom, you can power slide at the end of the sandy strip after the finish line, go around into the water, use you're mushroom into the dark water towards the finish line while letting go of B and holding L or R to hop, once you sink hold B to exit the dark water and pass through the finish line.
This track has some very thin sections, and at one point, there's a giant mud pit. Go slightly to the left in this mud pit to find a patch of ground to go a bit faster. This track has 1 shortcut and 1 ultra shortcut. If you have a mushroom, before the final turn use the mushroom into one of the bumps to go flying over the wall to cut off a small portion of the track. If you have a feather, then after you pass the finish line go to the right and turn around. Use the feather over this wall and the continue along the path normally to basically skip a whole lap.
This track is very slippery due to the ice on the track. There's also a bunch of snow blocks across the course that you may have trouble with. Try and focus on dodging it on the first lap, because on the rest of the laps, most of the ice will get destroyed by the CPUs giving you a clear shot through the ice. There is one ultra shortcut on this track. If you get a feather, similarly to some other courses, you can do a power slide just past the finish line and then feather backwards into the out of bounds area so Lakitu can carry you over for another lap.
This track can be very difficult to maneuver. If you're playing as Bowser or DK Jr, then make sure to slightly slow down after the first turn, otherwise the first hop will send you into the lava. When you reach the 3 corridors, be careful when power sliding out of there, as you could accidentally hit the opposite wall. There is 1 shortcut and 1 ultra shortcut on this track. If you have a feather, after the first turn, power slide to the left after the narrow section and use the feather just before you hit the wall to clear the lava and get over to the other side. If you have a feather, similarly to other tracks you can power slide to the right so you just cross the finish line and then feather over to the lava somewhere behind the finish line to cross another lap.
Here, there are many places to power slide around. There's a big turn in the center of the track. In order to take the line as perfect as possible, you should start your drift right after you pass through the pipes. There is only one shortcut here and one ultra shortcut here. If you have a mushroom, there's a hole in the wall before the final turn that you can mushroom through. This makes up some placements. The ultra shortcut is just like the one in donut plains 1, go directly right of the finish line and jump into the blue blocks to try and skip some laps.
