The following is an in-depth guide for the special cup of Super Mario Kart.
This track is very difficult to race on. On the bridge, there's a hole in it. You have to bunny hop over it. You can take this opportunity to start a power slide after that. The final turn is a opportunity to take a sharp line, as the opponents will take a bad line here. There is one big shortcut you can take here. If you have a mushroom, after the broken bridge go to the left a bit and power slide to the left, mushroom into the water, let go of B and hold L or R to hop over the wall to skip half the course.
This is a very easy track to race on, as it's basically one giant circle with little to no opportunities for the opponents to catch up. Make sure you stay on the sand to go as fast as possible unless you are doing a mushroom shortcut. This track has 4 shortcuts and 1 ultra shortcuts. For mushroom shortcuts, on the first turn you can cut some of the corner with it. On the third turn right after the water, you can cut this corner with a mushroom as will. Finally, on the last turn, you can cut through the leafs to go through. If you have a feather, go left after the water to hop over the diagonal wall to skip a portion. Finally, if you go directly left from the finish line and jump into the green part to skip the laps, just like Donut Plains 1 and Mario Circuit 4.
This is another Ghost Valley track, which means there are many 90 degree turns that you have to make. On one of the final sections, there's a boost panel behind a jump bar that you can use to gain extra speed. There's 2 shortcuts and 1 ultra shortcut. If you have a feather, then you can jump to the right after the item panels to gain some time. Right after that section, there's a turn with a broken corner of wood. If you power slide and feather off of that section then Lakitu will pick you up on the other side to skip about half the track. Finally, if you have a feather, you can power slide so you just barely cross the finish line and then you feather backwards into the void so Lakitu picks you up and takes you across the finish line for an extra lap, similarly to some other tracks.
This is similar to Vanilla Lake 1, except now it has a giant lake in the middle. You should definitely stay on the inside of this track so you can jump over all of the cracks in the lake by hopping. Focus on dodging the ice here on the first lap, just like last time. This course has 2 shortcuts and 1 ultra shortcut. Right after the ice block rectangles, you can head to the left and jump across the ice blocks in the water. If you have a mushroom, you can go around this section and mushroom through the hole in the wall ahead. Similarly to the last track, with a feather if you power slide so you just cross the finish line and head left, feather across into the out of bounds area, then Lakitu will take you across the finish line for another lap.
This track can be pretty difficult. There are no walls on the side of the track, so make sure you're staying as straight as possible. The twomps on this course are electrified, so you should probably plan on not touching them at all. Despite being the final course of the game, this course only has one ultra shortcut, and I bet you can guess what it is. Yep, with a feather, power slide so you just barely cross the finish line, use it backwards into the void so Lakitu takes you across for another lap. Otherwise, you can use the feather for cutting corners and jumping over thwomps. After you finish lap 5, you've finished Super Mario Kart.
After you finish Rainbow Road, you've beaten every cup. When you see the above image, you're done. Congratulations!
