Mushroom Cup

The following is an in-depth guide for the mushroom cup of Mario Kart 64.

Luigi Raceway

There's not much going on with this track. Most of the track is just straightaways with few turns. At the beginning of the track, there's a hot air balloon that drops down and gives you an item box if you hop into it. This ALWAYS gives you a blue shell, so you can sit here and give you tons of spiny shells that you can toss at first place to get an insane advantage and catch up quickly. The two big and long turns right before and after the finish line allows you to cut it slightly with a mushroom.

Moo Moo Farm

Here you're mainly going around in a circle, not many shortcuts you can take. On a few of the turns, there are some rougher parts on the ground with holes. Monty Moles in here will pop out of the ground and latch onto you. If your lucky, you can dodge these guys entirely, but otherwise you can just take a wider turn to avoid them. If they do hit you, then you'll spin out and you'll need to accelerate back up to full speed. You'll also find some big rock bridges with poles to the ground that you'll need to dodge.

Koopa Troopa Beach

Here you'll be surrounded by water every where you go. Try to stay on the sand so you can take the smallest lap possible. There's also plenty of trees around here on the sand that will make you spin out if you hit it. Make sure you avoid that if possible. There's a lot of speed boost jumps around the track that will give you an item box if you go off of it just right. There's also another big jump that if you go off just right you can take a big shortcut that cuts off a big chunk of the track without a needed mushroom to get across it.

Kalimari Desert

The big gimmick of this level is that there's a big train that goes across the stage on it's own tracks that you might have to stop and wait for. If the train comes and blocks your way, you might need to stop and wait for the train to go past you. Other than that, you're just following the path moving across with a couple turns you have to make. If you have a mushroom, stay close to the left, as you're moving towards the counter clockwise direction. Then you can go into the offroad and cut off a decent chunk of the turns.
