The following is an in-depth guide for the Fifth "Your Sanctuary" location of EarthBound.
Now that your done, head back to the lab and use the new device that Dr. Andonuts made to travel back to a new area, Summers.

Welcome to Summers! It's a long map with a lot to check out. Make sure to fully explore it. There are a few new enemies to deal with around here, beware of the Over Zealous Cop and the Tough Guy.

These guys aren't too difficult, and there aren't many of them. The only way out of Summers is by boat. The boat man in Toto, the port part of Summers tells you that he won't let boats run until his marriage is fixed. His wife is at the Stoic Club, which you need a by phone reservation to get inside. To get it, check out the house east of the shop and talk to the man inside. Call to get a reservation and then enter the club. Talk to the woman in the bottom right of the club. Agree to her request and follow her outside. Eat the cake and enter a weird, dream like sequence in Dalaam.

You are now in control of your eventual fourth party member, Poo, in Dalaam. When you are in control, check the presents for Brain Food Lunch, Brain Stone and Cup of Lifenoodles. Exit the palace after saving and head down the path. Along the way, check out the houses for two Bottles of Water, a Bowl of Rice Gruel, and a Jar of Delisauce. At the bottom, head east and up the ropes to enter the tests. First, a girl will call you. Ignore Her. Then, some sort of spirit will come and ask to take off your limbs. Agree to every question to pass the second test. Now go back to your master who will give you a bunch of levels and then teleport you to Ness, Paula and Jeff. It may be a good idea to train up Poo now to not only prepare for a mini-boss in Summers, but your next "Your Sanctuary" location. Now, go back to Summers and go to the museum where you can present Poo's ruby to the guard to gain access to the backroom. In here you can fight two Shattering Men.

You should be able to bash and use PSI Freeze to take care of these enemies. Check the exhibit to figure out the Pokey went to Scaraba. On your way out, the guard will give you a Hieroglyph, which you can put into Escargo Express. From now on, you can either go to Magnet Hill or Scaraba. You should go to Magnet Hill. Get some food and some exit mice before you go inside. Go to the Fourside Dinosaur Museum and pay to get inside. The guy in the back will let you go if you give him an autograph from Venus. Go back to the Topolla Theater and go backstage to get an autographed banana peel from her. Go back to the guy and give the autograph to go past into the Magnet Hill.

The best way to go through this area is to immediately go right, down the ladder, through the sewage to the end and up a ladder and fight the sanctuary boss, then grabbing all of the stuff on the way back. Before you do that, you need to familiarize yourself with the enemies, the Deadly Mouse, Filthy Attack Roach and Stinky Ghost.

These guys are the reason its better to take a straight shot to the end, you need to save your HP and PP for the boss battle. Wen you go down the first ladder, head right for a Croissant, and left and through the door for a broken iron. Go to the first ladder after you go into the water and head left through the door for a Broken Spray Can. Go to the third ladder in the water and head left for a Rust Promoter DX. Lastly, go through the second to last ladder in the water and head left through the door for a Broken Bazooka. Now, you are ready to fight the boss, the Plague Rat of Doom.

Use all of your heavy PSI abilities and Bottle Rockets to attack the Rat. He will get a lot of critical hits because of his high guts stat. Once he's done, go through the door and record the fifth melody on your sound stone.
