The following is an in-depth guide for the Eighth "Your Sanctuary" location of EarthBound.
After you're done with that, continue to the left and go down the hole to the Lost Underworld.

Once you're here, you'll notice that you're incredibly small. This means that all of the enemies in this area area incredibly large creatures and mysterious objects, including the Chomposaur, Ego Orb and Wetnosaur.

These guys are very powerful, so it might be a good idea to just avoid them and teleport to Lumine Hall if you need to train some levels. If you do attack them, Freeze is fairly powerful against all of them. Head north and west, you can heal and save in a fenced in area here. Head west of here for a Brain Food Lunch. Go east of the fenced area and slightly south for a Horn of Life. Head all the way north of here for a Sea Pendant. Go around the western wall and a little west for a Guts Capsule. Head in the south west direction to find another fenced in village. Talk to the Tenda by the gate to get in. Interact with the rock to the right. Gear up with some new items for your crew. There's another ATM that subtracts from your account the amount you withdraw, so again you can just teleport if you need money. Head west of here. The cave above can take you to the Cave of the Past, but ignore it for now. Head south and then northeast for a Cloak of Kings. Head south and you'll find an HP and PP geyser. Heal, then go west and into the Fire Spring.

These enemies can be tough, but certain ones, like the Soul Consuming Flame, can be easy to defeat. You might want to go through this, getting all the experience you can get. The Major Psychic Psycho has a 1/128 chance to drop the Star Pendant, so look out for that, too. First, go through the first door for a Speed Capsule, then go back. Go up the first two ropes and through the door. Go through the next door and down for a Bag of Dragonite. Go all the way back to the entrance and go right and through two doors. Then go even more right for a Cherub's Band. Go back left and up two ropes and into the left door for a Horn of Life. Go back out and down one rope and through the right door. Go right through another. Go up two ropes and through the left door. Head straight left through the first door. Go up one rope, right, and then down one rope for a Moon Beam Gun. Go back through the door you came. Go up and left and through the second door. Go up two ropes and fight the sanctuary boss, Carbon Dog.

This guy should be easy, just PSI attacks on him and bottle rockets until he's down. Once you kill him, he'll turn into Diamond Dog.

Ness, as usual should be healing the whole team whenever they get to a dangerous level. Paula should be using Freeze and protecting the entire team if you need it. Jeff should use the Neutralizer and then use Bottle Rockets or bashing. Poo should also use strong PSI attacks against him. Be prepared, as this is a hard boss battle. First, Once he's done, give Ness all of your important items. All your bags of Dragonite, anything Ness can use that you can't go without. Then, go through the hole and record the seventh melody on your sound stone.
