The following is an in-depth guide for the ending of EarthBound.
After you're dream like sequence, you'll be taken to Magicant, solo.
♪Welcome Home♪
You're now inside Magicant, or an amalgamation of your own thoughts. Things are weird here, talking to different people can change the color of the stage. Head right if you want to store anything or heal at mom's place. You can also buy an Earth Pendant from the Magicant shop. Also buy some Magic Pudding just in case. Head to the east area and north and you'll find a house with Flying Men inside. They can join your party, but there's only five of them in total and once they die, they die. You definitely can finish this area if your at a decent level, but you might as well take one if you don't plan on coming back for more. If you're level 90 or higher, there's no point in battling as you gain a big EXP boost at the end. If your under, there's no need to tirelessly train. Head forward and watch out for the new enemies, Care Free Bomb, Electro Swoosh, French Kiss of Death, Loaded Dice and Mr. Molecule.

These guys can be pretty tough, especially the Care Free Bomber. If you can, use Paralysis or something that has a high chance of hitting on it to make the fight easier. At the first fork in the road, go right for a Bag of Dragonite and a Baseball Cap. GO back left and up, going north at the fork for a Goddess Band. Go back right and around the path, grabbing the Magicant Bat and the Magic Tart along the way. Eventually you'll reach a tentacle that teleports you to the Sea of Eden.
♪Sea of Eden♪
Welcome to the Sea of Eden! This is a fairly short area. It's very straightforward, so just follow the path, there's no items to collect along the way. As you're going through, you'll fight three Krakens. You can avoid some of these, but you might as well fight them for the experience because of how easy they are. Once you get to the end of the Sea, heal yourself up fully and then interact with the statue for a battle against Ness's Nightmare

This guy can be tough, so make sure you have your best attacking items in your inventory. If you have any Bags of Dragonite, use them now as there isn't another good chance to use them for the rest of the game. Two or three and then some bashing should take him down. Alternatively, you can just bash him while healing and hope for the best. You can also use auto fight to prioritize healing and get it as fast as possible. After he's done, you'll be told to go to Saturn Valley and you'll get a huge stat boost and the rest of your PSI abilities. You'll now be in Fire Spring again. Teleport to Saturn Valley. Here, you'll see Dr Andonuts and a Mr. Saturn working on the Phase Distorter. You need to get a piece of meteor to get it to work, though. Teleport to Onett.

Be careful around here and remember that you can still go to your mom to heal. These enemies can be tough and if you think you can afford it, you can avoid them. These enemies are the hardest enemies in the game. For the Final Starmen, you'll want to take them out first as they are the most powerful of all of these. Remember that you can use the Phase Distorter to save and heal if you need it. Remember to use all of your most powerful abilities on these enemies. Almost all of your items you should save for the final boss. The Bionic Kraken has a 1/128 chance to drop the Gutsy Bat, which is Ness' best weapon. It's not worth it though. Continue on, checking on the magic orbs you find to move along. You'll find a present here that has a Legendary Bat inside that's worth grabbing. Go into the mysterious cave.

Focus on Heavily Armed Pokey first. You'll want to put up a shield and then use every multi bottle rocket and bag of dragonite you have left. Also use Freeze abilities on him if you can. In the second phase, you just want to attack Giygas with all that you got. Any extra multi bottle rockets and PSI Freeze him until Pokey comes back. Once he's back, you can focus on keeping the team alive. You want to have Paula pray every single turn. Focus on keeping her alive over everyone else, but you should also focus on keeping Ness alive and Poo if you can to heal the crew. Jeff can't do much so he can just guard or spy Giygas to waste his turn. After Paula prays nine times, Giygas will go down.
After Giygas falls, you can check around town and call your contacts to check out everything. When you're done, go to your mom. Congratulations!
