What is the Spring Showcase?

Shine Your Light Academy of Dance, Inc.'s Spring Showcase is our big end of year show! It is an opportunity for students to perform a piece of choreography that highlights what they have learned throughout the dance season.

Who performs in the Spring Showcase?

All students registered in Shine Your Light Academy of Dance, Inc. classes before February 28, 2026 are invited to participate in our Spring 2026 showcase. Students registering after February 28th will not likely be permitted to perform in the Spring Showcase as choreography will have already been started and adequate time may not be available for costumes.

What is the time commitment to perform in the Spring Showcase?

Students must attend their weekly class(es) as this is where they will learn the choreography for the Spring Showcase. Missing class two or more consecutive weeks between February 1st and the Spring Showcase will likely result in being taken out of that section of the dance in which choreography was missed.

In addition to their weekly class(es) students must attend the MANDATORY dress rehearsal the Friday evening (DATE TBA) before the show. Dress rehearsal could take up to 4 hours depending on scheduling and location. Dress rehearsal and attendance the week leading up to the spring showcase are mandatory so please ensure students are present. Missing dress rehearsal or class the week leading up to the spring showcase may result in a dancer not being able to participate in the Spring Showcase.

Students should also dedicate up to 5 hours to dance on performance day depending on scheduling and location.

What is the financial commitment to perform in the Spring Showcase?

Costume Fee: Costume fees are calculated based off costume cost plus tax and shipping plus an additional 20% to cover admin expenses. These fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Costume fees are broken into two (2) payments. A deposit of $70 per class is due December 12, 2025. Costume balances will be due January 16, 2026. Total costume fees will not exceed:

Preschool: $150 per class

Level I: $165 per class

Level II-B: $175 per class

Level II-A / III / IV: $190 per class

Participation Fee: $80 per student due March 1, 2026. The Participation Fee helps us to pay for the rental of the facility as well as covers the insurance needed to rent the space.

Tickets will go on sale one month prior to the Showcase. Any person ages 3 and up will need a ticket for the show. Dancers do NOT need a ticket. Seating will be first come first serve. Account must be paid in full before tickets can be ordered.

Picture information will be released January 15, 2026. Video information will be released February 15, 2026.

Dress rehearsal line up and program draft will be emailed to SYLAD families March 1, 2025.
