Program Offerings

All classes are taught by experienced professionals providing a positive and challenging program for every student.

The faculty of Shine Your Light Academy of Dance has extensive experience working with numerous dance teams as well as a wealth of performance experience.

Nurturing yet professional teaching techniques are the cornerstone of Shine Your Light Academy of Dance.

BALLET

Classical Ballet class based on the Cecchetti syllabus with foundational technique in Barre and Center work; with the goal for the student to learn to dance by studying and internalizing the basic principles, in an effort to become poised and expressive.

POINTE

An extension of Classical Ballet class based on the Cecchetti syllabus with foundational technique in Barre and Center work en pointe; with the goal for the student to learn to dance by studying and internalizing the basic principles, in an effort to become poised and expressive.

JAZZ

From Bob Fosse to Frank Hatchett to current masters, timeless technique, emphasizing control, style, turns, leaps and center floor work.

CONTEMPORARY

Based on ballet technique, emphasizing quality of movement, strength and creativity, patterns as a means of propelling a story or theme.

GLOW 'N GROW WITH ME

Does your little one love to move to the music? Is it hard for you and your son/daughter to sit still when a great song comes on the radio? Do you want to get your little love moving a bit more, while at the same time getting your blood flowing? If so, this class is perfect for you! You will sing, dance, jump, stretch and tumble! Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, or other caretakers are welcome! Bring the child in your life and let's have a blast together!

PRE - BALLET/TAP

Give your little one a way to show off their living room dance moves! Come take class to start learning the basics of ballet, tap and dance movement while having fun and learning dance terminology through creative play and imagination with our monthly themes. This is a great way to introduce your child to the world of dance!

ADAPTIVE DANCE

A class for children with exceptional needs to shine. Students will learn movement, explore music, and gain confidence in all that they can do! 

*Our instructor is Rhythm Works Integrative Dance certified!

PERFORMANCE COMPANY

The SYLAD Performance Company shares their love of dance through community performances throughout the year. During performance company class students learn the choreography for these extra performances. All performance company members must be enrolled in technique classes throughout the week.
