The Spring Showcase is Shine Your Light Academy of Dance's annual end-of-season performance and a celebration of everything our dancers have accomplished throughout the year. It is an opportunity for every student to take the stage and perform choreography that showcases the skills, confidence, creativity, and artistry they have developed during the dance season.
Each year, our Spring Showcase is built around a unique theme that brings the performance to life through music, storytelling, costumes, and choreography.
Spring Showcase 2027 Theme: To Be Announced
Stay tuned! We can't wait to reveal this season's exciting theme and invite you to experience another unforgettable performance with us.
Why Do We Have a Spring Showcase?
At Shine Your Light Academy of Dance, we believe performances are about much more than learning a dance. They help dancers build confidence, practice teamwork, celebrate their accomplishments, and experience the joy of sharing their hard work with family and friends. Every dancer—whether it's their first time on stage or their fifteenth—has the opportunity to shine.
All students enrolled in classes by the Spring Showcase enrollment deadline are invited to participate in our annual performance. To ensure every dancer has adequate time to learn choreography, receive a costume, and prepare for the show, students who enroll after the enrollment deadline may not be eligible to participate.
The enrollment deadline for the 2026–2027 season will be announced at the beginning of the dance year. Families are encouraged to register early to guarantee their dancer's opportunity to perform on stage.
Preparing for the Spring Showcase is a team effort, and regular class attendance is essential. Dancers learn and rehearse their choreography during their weekly classes, so consistent attendance throughout the season helps ensure they feel confident and prepared for their performance.
If a dancer misses two or more consecutive classes during the choreography and rehearsal period, they may be unable to participate in portions of their dance if there is not enough time to safely and successfully catch up on missed choreography.
In addition to their weekly classes, all participating dancers are required to attend the mandatory Spring Showcase Dress Rehearsal, which is typically held on the Friday evening before the performance (date and schedule will be announced during the season). Dress rehearsal may last up to four hours, depending on the performance schedule and venue.
Attendance at dress rehearsal and during the final week of classes before the showcase is required. Missing either may result in a dancer being unable to participate in the performance.
On performance day, families should plan for dancers to be committed for up to five hours, depending on the performance schedule, venue, and the number of routines in which the dancer is participating.
The financial commitment for the Spring Showcase depends on the payment option your family selects during registration.
Families enrolled under the Standard Tuition plan are responsible for the following:
Performance Uniform Fees – Each participating class requires a performance uniform for the Spring Showcase. Performance uniform fees are calculated based on the cost of the uniform, applicable sales tax, shipping, and a 20% administrative fee to cover ordering, processing, and handling. Performance uniform fees are non-refundable once orders have been placed. These are due January 16, 2027.
Participation Fee – Each participating dancer is assessed a Spring Showcase Participation Fee. This fee helps cover performance venue rental, production expenses, staffing, insurance, and other costs associated with presenting a professional-quality performance. These are due March 1, 2027
Specific performance uniform and participation fee amounts, as well as payment deadlines, are announced at the beginning of each dance season.
Families enrolled in the Shine Membership enjoy simplified, all-inclusive pricing.
Your monthly membership already includes:
Spring Showcase performance uniform fees
Spring Showcase participation fee

Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating our dancers at the Spring Showcase!
Tickets typically go on sale approximately one month before the performance. Information regarding ticket pricing, purchasing instructions, sale dates, and any venue-specific policies will be shared with participating families as soon as it becomes available. We work hard to select performance venues that allow as many family members and friends as possible to attend and celebrate our dancers.
All audience members ages 3 and older require a ticket.
Participating dancers do not need a ticket.
Tickets must be purchased in advance unless otherwise announced.
Seating arrangements (general admission or reserved seating) are determined by the performance venue and will be communicated prior to ticket sales.
All studio accounts must be paid in full before tickets may be purchased.
Please note that ticket sales are managed by the studio or venue and may be subject to availability.
Each participating dancer is required to wear the designated Performance Uniform for each class in which they perform. Performance uniforms are carefully selected to complement the choreography, create a cohesive look on stage, and provide every dancer with a polished performance experience.
Performance uniform information, including style details, sizing, pricing, and ordering deadlines, will be shared with families during the dance season.
To help ensure the best fit, dancers may be measured during class. Families are responsible for reviewing sizing information and submitting any required forms or payments by the announced deadlines.
Once performance uniform orders have been placed with our suppliers, they cannot be canceled, exchanged, or refunded, except in the case of a manufacturer defect.
In addition to the performance uniform, dancers may be required to purchase or provide specific dance shoes, tights, hair accessories, or other performance items. These requirements vary by class and will be communicated well in advance of the Spring Showcase.
To maintain a professional appearance and preserve the condition of the uniform, dancers should not wear or alter their performance uniform before the showcase unless instructed to do so by the studio.
Families enrolled in the Standard Tuition payment plan are responsible for performance uniform fees as outlined in the Financial Commitment section. Families enrolled in the Shine Membership payment plan have their Spring Showcase performance uniform fees included as part of their monthly membership.
To create a polished and professional appearance on stage, all participating dancers are required to follow the studio's designated hair and makeup guidelines for the Spring Showcase. Uniform hair and makeup help ensure dancers are visible under stage lighting and create a cohesive look during each performance.
Detailed instructions, including hairstyle requirements, makeup recommendations, and any required hair accessories, will be provided to families several weeks before the showcase.
Families are responsible for arriving at the performance with their dancer's hair and makeup completed unless otherwise instructed by the studio.
For the safety of all dancers and to preserve the integrity of the performance, hair and makeup should not be changed after check-in unless directed by a member of the studio staff.
If a dancer has a medical condition, sensory sensitivity, or other circumstance that makes the standard hair or makeup requirements difficult, please contact the Artistic Director in advance. We are committed to working with families to provide reasonable accommodations whenever possible while maintaining the overall appearance of the performance.
Additional details regarding the Spring Showcase will be shared with participating families throughout the season. This includes information about:
Performance photography
Performance videography
Dress rehearsal schedules
Show lineup and performance order
Digital program proof
Ticket sales
Arrival and dismissal procedures
Hair, makeup, and performance uniform requirements
Volunteer opportunities (if applicable)
All important Spring Showcase communications will be sent via email and through the Parent Portal. Families are encouraged to read all studio communications carefully and ensure their contact information remains up to date so they don't miss important deadlines or announcements.
While the Spring Showcase is not required, we highly encourage every dancer to participate. Performing on stage is a rewarding experience that helps build confidence, celebrate progress, and create lasting memories. If your dancer will not be participating, please notify the studio as early as possible.
Most recreational classes perform one routine in the Spring Showcase. Some classes, performance groups, or specialty programs may perform additional routines or have different performance opportunities throughout the season.
Regular attendance is important, especially during the choreography and rehearsal period. Dancers who miss multiple consecutive classes may be unable to participate in portions of their routine if there is not enough time to safely learn the missed choreography.
Students who enroll after the Spring Showcase enrollment deadline may not be eligible to participate. This allows adequate time to learn choreography, order performance uniforms, and prepare for the performance.
To protect the safety and privacy of all performers and to provide an enjoyable viewing experience for everyone, personal photography and videography during the performance may be limited or prohibited by the studio or venue. Information regarding photography and professional video options will be shared before the showcase.
Families will receive a detailed performance schedule prior to the Spring Showcase. Dancers should arrive at their designated check-in time dressed in their performance uniform and ready to perform unless otherwise instructed.
Yes. Once checked in, dancers will remain under the supervision of studio staff and approved volunteers until they are dismissed to a parent or authorized adult. To ensure the performance runs smoothly, parents and family members are not permitted backstage unless serving in an approved volunteer role.
If your dancer is ill, please notify the studio as soon as possible. While we understand illnesses happen, there may not be an opportunity to re-stage choreography and performances cannot be rescheduled.
Shine Your Light Academy of Dance hosts a separate Picture Day prior to the Spring Showcase, giving every dancer the opportunity to have professional individual and group photos taken in their performance uniform. Picture Day details, scheduling, and ordering information will be shared with participating families during the spring semester.
The Spring Showcase is not professionally videotaped. Families are encouraged to enjoy the performance and celebrate their dancer's accomplishments in the moment. Any photography or videography during the performance is subject to the policies of the performance venue and the studio.
We're happy to help! If you have any questions about the Spring Showcase, please contact the studio. We are committed to making the performance experience enjoyable, organized, and memorable for every dancer and family.
