This unique HD-MAC method enables us to define the most reliable biomarkers among many altered genes during cancer development. This platform is an ideal tool suitable for gene-screening using BIGDATA generated by cancergenomics projects.

This study defines YWHAZ as a potent chemo-/radio-resistant gene that determines sensitivity of bladder cancer cells toward drug or radiation treatment. YWHAZ knockdown activates apoptosis signaling in cancer cells, leading to better therapeutic efficacy.

In these two studies, we identified two mechanisms, one for pro-cancer and the other for anti-cancer, that work together as a Ying-Yang balancing act to determine EGFR signaling activation in cancer cells. During HNSCC development, EGFR and its downstream effectors are frequently amplified and overexpressed, whereas LRIG1 is frequently deleted, leading to uncontrolled cell proliferation, ECM remodeling and cell invasion.
