The visually striking schedule is designed to make it easy for fans to plan ahead, with every game date and start time clearly displayed. Home and away contests are color-coded, allowing season ticket holders and casual fans alike to quickly map out the season.
This schedule gives Crunch fans something to be excited about as the countdown to hockey season begins. Fans are encouraged to mark their calendars, purchase tickets early, and prepare for another season of fast-paced AHL hockey in Syracuse.
New Faces to Watch in 2026–27
While the schedule gives fans a roadmap for the season, the roster also features several intriguing additions who could make an immediate impact for Syracuse.
Leading the newcomers is Clark Bishop, a veteran center who joins the Crunch after captaining the Calgary Wranglers. Bishop brings more than 500 AHL games of experience, a Calder Cup championship, and over 50 NHL appearances, giving Syracuse added leadership down the middle.
On the blue line, Mike Callahan arrives on a two-way contract after spending time with the Boston Bruins organization. The veteran defenseman is expected to provide stability and depth while mentoring the Crunch’s younger defensemen.
In goal, fans should keep an eye on Mads Søgaard, the 6-foot-7 netminder acquired from the Ottawa Senators organization. With NHL experience and impressive size, Søgaard has the potential to become one of the AHL’s most intimidating goaltenders if he spends significant time in Syracuse. The Crunch also added Olivier Rodrigue, giving the club strong competition between the pipes.
Up front, Elliot Desnoyers joins after time in the Minnesota Wild organization, bringing offensive upside and versatility, while Jansen Harkins, an experienced NHL forward from the Anaheim Ducks organization, could become a key contributor if assigned to Syracuse.
The Crunch will also continue developing several Tampa Bay Lightning prospects, including Conor Geekie, Ethan Gauthier, Gabriel Szturc, Connor Kurth, and Milo Roelens, all of whom are expected to compete for larger roles during the 2026–27 season.
Together, the mix of veteran leadership and emerging talent gives Syracuse fans plenty of reasons to be excited as the team looks to make another run at the Calder Cup.
Top Prospects to Watch This Season
In addition to a talented veteran core, Crunch fans will have plenty of reasons to be excited about the next wave of Tampa Bay Lightning prospects.
One of the biggest names is Sam O’Reilly, who enters the season as one of the Lightning’s top prospects after an outstanding junior career. Acquired from the Edmonton Oilers organization, the 2024 first-round pick is expected to compete for NHL minutes during training camp. If he begins the season in Syracuse, fans could get the chance to watch one of the organization’s premier young centers develop into a future NHL contributor.
Another player generating significant buzz is Benjamin Rautiainen. The Finnish forward enjoyed a historic season with Tappara, leading Finland’s Liiga with 77 points and becoming the league’s first 70-point scorer in nearly two decades before signing a three-year entry-level contract with Tampa Bay. Whether he spends the season in North America or returns to Finland for additional development, he’s widely regarded as one of the most exciting offensive prospects in the organization.
On the blue line, Tomas Kralovic is another name to remember. The 2026 third-round draft pick recently signed his entry-level contract after impressing at Tampa Bay’s development camp. The smooth-skating Slovak defenseman is considered a promising two-way blueliner and could make his North American professional debut with Syracuse this season.
Combined with established young talent already in Syracuse, these prospects represent the next generation of Lightning players and could make the 2026–27 season one of the most exciting in recent memory for Crunch fans.
