- Man and Superman in Finnish?
- George Bernard Shaw, dreaming that he is Leo Tolstoy weighing fish on a mountain. The thumbnails on the right give away the optical illusion.
- Did you know that Sarah Mayer (see p. 19-20), the first non-Japanese woman to obtain a black belt in judo, met Shaw and convinced him to re-write The Millionairess to make Epifania a judoka instead of a boxer? She played the role of Epifania in a production at the Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne, in January 1940, under her stage name of Sarah Tapping. Check out this poster presentation from the Science in Judo Conference (Rotterdam, 2009), kindly shared by the authors. Also, a very interesting doctoral dissertation on Sarah Mayer is underway, featured on the British Library "case-studies" website.
- Here's an 'old' friend of Shaw.
- Collector's corner is back, thanks this time to Jesse Hellman, who shared this with us.
- The latest issue of SHAW (37.1 "Shaw and Classical Literature") is out.
- It seems like "The Black Girl" is revived a lot lately.
- A fairly recent Italian version of Man and Superman (Uomo e Superuomo)
- A past event that Shavians in the UK may be able to tell us more about.
