- DISCLAIMER / WARNING: NOT SAFE FOR WORK. Stanley Weintraub has brought to my attention this obit in The New York Times of the man who directed a pornographic "twist on Shaw's Pygmalion, The Opening of Misty Beethoven." This reminds me of a sex scandal that was all over the Spanish news a while back that involved some MPs and a brothel in Madrid called "Pigmalión."
- Curiously enough, a number of ISS members have brought to my attention a quotation attributed to Shaw that is also connected to sex. I have not been able to find a source for this anecdote (hence, I'll file it under "apocryphal" for the time being). This is likely the reason why Joseph Spence categorizes it as an "attribution" in his The Sayings of Bernard Shaw. Still, I could not resist sharing with you another quotation that is even more sexual (Life-Force sexual, that is). This one, it seems, Shaw actually said.
- Major Barbara during the Great Depression.
- Shaw arouses the interest of young scholars everywhere.
- A crematorium called "Joan of Arc" in Colombia (Ah, the irony!)
- 2012 National Theatre's production of The Doctor's Dilemma: The trailer, a brief interview with the cast, and some feedback from the audience.
- The Aurora Theatre Company is reviving Widowers' Houses.
- Review of The PlayMakers' My Fair Lady.
- Another Shaw site that can now be found on GeoShaw. Shaw posted letters at the Highland Hotel in Strathpeffer when he was staying there, some of which are available for sale.
