An (unexpected) Shaw autograph hunter.
Bernard Shaw, the taxi driver (see photo caption).
After the LSE digitized their Shaw Photographic Archive, the original url that linked to the records has been broken. This is the url you can use now. Click on "SHAW PHOTOGRAPHS" and you'll be able to browse hundreds of digital folders where you'll find photographs, negatives, and other image files. Everything is enriched with detailed descriptions and metadata.
A more Shavian/Fabian take on the "Rob Peter to Pay Paul" quotation.
There seems to be a Shaw quotation for almost every situation. Really, I mean for every situation or topic.
Although I don't think this is the forum for sharing personal stuff, I thought you'd like to know about the 'Shavian' experiences I've had in my recent trip to Madrid. First, because I managed to get a nice copy of the 1950 Spanish edition of "Man and Superman" (Hombre y Superhombre), translated by Pedro Lecuona. It's one of the many hidden treasures that one can find at Cuesta de Moyano. Also, I saw a wonderful exhibition at the Prado Museum. It brings together the best works by French painter Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres and, among them, a magnificent portraint of Joan of Arc at the Coronation of Charles VII. Enough said.
