温泉 ＨOT SPRINGS

A short walking distance from the festival site, there is a hot spring that is used by the Karen, the long-neck hill tribe. The hot spring has the smell of sulfur and is put through several clay pipes. The temperature of the hot water in each clay pipe is different, so you can choose and soak yourself up at your favorite temperature. When it’s too hot, you can cool down or swim in the river.

This hot spring is open to the public and it’s free. You are welcome to enjoy it as long as you don't annoy the villagers. The Karen village people come to bathe in the morning and evening, so for us, it’s best to go there at midday or late at night.

This year, we want to level up our awareness and our love for Nature which can only be shown by our tangible actions. Please use only natural, organic soap, shampoo, and detergent for washing your body, your plates, cups and clothes to avoid polluting the river.

We want to minimize our collective trash amount, so please bring your own reusable plates, cups, cutleries and refillable water bottles.

土管温泉

祭り会場から歩いて行ける距離に、地元の山岳民族、カレン族が使っている、土管を利用した温泉があります。 パイプから出る硫黄の匂いのする熱い源泉を土管の中に入れ、満水になれば次の土管へと少しぬるくなったお湯が流れてゆく仕組み。 それぞれの土管のお湯の温度が違うので、自分の好みの温度のお湯に浸かれます。

土管のすぐそばにはきれいな透明の水が流れる小川があり、水牛がのんびりしていたりします。 川の向こうには小さな村があり、のどかなカレン族の暮らしぶりも目に入ってきたりして、決して日本では味わえない温泉気分にひたれます。

この温泉は無料で開放していますので、村の方達に迷惑かけない程度で楽しんでもオッケーです。 カレンの村人達は朝と夕方に入りに来ますので、私たちはお昼頃か真夜中がベストかな？

今年は、私たちの自然に対する愛と環境保護の意識をより高めることで、全体としてレベル・アップする年にしたいと考えています。私たちの愛と意識は、私たち一人ひとりのとる選択と行動によって測ることができます。温泉や川の汚染を防ぐため、石鹸やシャンプー、また食器洗いや洗濯に使う石鹸は、自然素材のものを使ってください。

私たちが毎日出す全体としてのゴミの量も、一人ひとりの努力で出来るだけ減らしましょう！　使い捨てでない、洗って使える食器類と、マイカップ、水筒をご持参ください。

「土管温泉」

ほたるの湯

ほたるの湯は有料です。現在営業が確認されていませんが、もしやっていればここにもお金を払って入れます。

土管の湯よりも手前にある有料温泉。 土管温泉と同じ源泉から長い距離をパイプで持ってきているので、温度は少し低め。 昼間の暑い時間帯の入浴をおすすめします。日本人がカレン族の収入になるようにと作ったらしく、日本風の石で組んだ露天風呂が二つあります。 露天風呂の脇には小さなあずま屋がありゴロンと出来るので、４～５人くらいでビールを持って風呂上がりにゆっくりするには最高です。
