While living mortals aren't supposed to be able to enter these places, Michael was transported here (and stripped of all items and gear) during his clash with Ye Lwin just before the beginning of the first Michael's Quest. While mortals can NOT enter, they can move about normally if brought here in such a manner. Hell consists of the main cave-like structure used to house the souls until it is time for their torture (that being injected into a new body, given weak weapons and armor, and aimlessly slaughtered by skeletons and other creatures while the ghostly guards watch), and the Hell Outskirts, where demons and other foul creatures live and prowl on those that might escape (which almost never happens as it is).
Purgatory is the middle-ground, where the dead roam while awaiting judgement of their life, with the doorway to Hell on one side, and Heaven's directly across. The doorway to heaven is however a one-way trip, as a purple flame lets those with a pure heart through, and nothing else in or out. Once on the other side, NOTHING can get back into Purgatory, save for gods or deities.
Heaven is a very bright world with creatures galloping in the grass, refreshing flowing water, and spirits roaming happily, protected by any oddities that go near them, as they fade in and out when, for example, mortals approach. This property can NOT be avoided, and happens involuntarily, but aims to protect those that made the judgement into this sanctuary. Just as all prior locations related to death were connected, leaving Heaven through the Passage to the Overworld (a cave-like maze made of dirt) brings those that make it out to a Graveyard, where the dead were buried and brought through to the other side.
This "funny" looking structure is SEEMINGLY a natural mountain. Found in the first Michael's Quest, the specific shape mixed with the perfect amount of brown dead bushes make it look... oddly suggestive...
While the grasslands themselves are vast, many other civilizations, groups of monsters, and even villages can be found within. For one, the Village of Stonehaven can be seen on route to the Michael Kingdom, and the yellowish wheat-like grass acts as a home for wolves, and nymphs, as well as other monsters.
While many human villages are in the world, this is the first and only human sighting in the first Michael's Quest. The somewhat small town made of cobble has a dip in the center with bathing water, where one can either take the water, or wash then and there. While humans are somewhat weak in this world and fight amongst members of their own race (as described here), this "clan" of sorts occupies this section of the Grasslands, and defends against any terrors that might come their way. The town is equipped with range and melee wielding guards, and has a blacksmith should any citizens feel brave enough to train and utilize it (not that many do). Most citizens make do with what they have, and share a singular farm in the far bottom corner of the town.
Home to the Michaels, this vast city has many advancements, areas, and torches to light up the night. This city sees some visitors and strangers that either pass by or stay, as one cloaked individual has and lives by the water collectors, often staring into the clear blue ocean, but talking to those who approach him.
Three water collection stations are not the only advancement the kingdom has, as they have a fairly large area designated specifically for wheat growth, and two to three Michaels ALWAYS picking, watering, and guarding. There also is a throne room for the eventual king or leader, which is always guarded. Any humans within this large town flourish, though not very many survive the trip through the Grasslands. Michaels however are strong enough to deal with the monsters that might come their way, and love training and fighting, a trait that runs in their blood.
This grassy plain is the only thing standing between the Michael Kingdom, and the Ye Kingdom (seen below). This field of grass was once a light, lively green, but has become very dusty, foggy, and darker through the years of fighting. Michaels have never eradicated the Yes until (seemingly) the end of the first Michael's Quest, but their fights have left many dead from both kingdoms, and vegetation struggles to grow there.
In Michael's Quest II - The Maddening Shadows, dead Michaels can still be found within the smoky grass. While Ye bodies disintegrate on death, Michaels' do not, and the kingdom left them there out of respect for the fallen.
Many Abandoned Caves of Da Crew can be found throughout the land as they constantly move homes like nomads. Upon finding the active residence however, members of Da Crew reside inside. These humans are different from the rest, as they've spent their entire life salvaging what they can from the Michaels, and other powerful races. Da Crew was originally a group of grammar school friends, Billy Chan (Chicken), Michael Benjamin (Piga), Ye Lwin (The Mayor), and Rocco Russo (The Beanman), now represented as powerful humans within the Michael's Quest universe (as many of the story is). While different "incarnations" of sorts exist throughout the years the story spans, they always have the same names, types of equipment, and abilities or skills.
Located deep in the High Mountain Range and Arctic, an icy cavern-esc structure holds Lord Snow's set of powerful weapons and armor that Michael utilizes in the first Michael's Quest, since Ye Lwin stripped him of his gear when transporting him to Hell. The sword, shield, and crown are guarded by a Cyclops whose job is to keep intruders out. No-one knows who Lord Snow actually is, how any of these structures or creatures got here, or when these areas were found or formed however.
This seemingly Egyptian styled village consists of crude tents, sand piles, and yellow sandstone. As stated here, Yes eat hot obsidian rocks that fuel their sand and fire skills, so what seem like random rock formations were dug out and set on top of a fire deliberately. Compared to most other civilizations and\or villages, the Ye Kingdom is slightly baren, and chaotic.
While the Michael Kingdom has designed houses, areas for specific tasks, and aligned features, the Ye Kingdom is slightly random, and seems like objects were just placed wherever they landed. Unlike the Michael Kingdom, the Ye Kingdom has a vast, somewhat windy throne room with many heavy stone doors inside, showing how the citizens live to serve the leader in this society. Traps are laid throughout the Ye Kingdom, but none of which can be tripped by Yes as they all float to some degree.
In the first Michael's Quest, the main Massive Stone Door is locked in preparation for the war between the Michaels and the Yes. This further delays Michael's ability to get to Ye Lwin, prolonging the time the two kingdoms must fight to survive. The kingdom is also surrounded by sandstone walls that Michaels can't jump over (nor do they ever really jump at all), effectively keeping them out. This allows Ye's minions pour out however, since they float, and can also burrow into the ground. This was a precaution taken after one of the Michaels almost beat Ye Lwin, setting up the events of the first Michael's Quest.
The Land of The Weird is an area that can be found by going through a random, super dark cave in The Land Between. This area seemingly disconnects from reality, with sharks flying in the sky, birds swimming in water that can be ran right through, tigers that walk on two legs and can be traded with, as well as many other oddities. Furthermore, somewhat weak but fast creatures can be seen as well as heard in the ambient distance, and weird entities that lack logical sense somehow exist. In the first Michael's Quest, Michael's new regal outfit can be found from some incredibly fast but fairly weak skeletons in the black stone area, somewhat deep into the region. The Land of The Weird also changes every few years (and therefore in every Michael's Quest map\game), which further creates more questions than it answers...
Somewhere next to The Land Between and the High Mountain Range lies this natural structure. This mountain sometimes opens portals to other dimensions from the magic deep within it. These portals are opened in weirdly perfect arch formations at the top of the mountain that somehow has snow, despite the bottom being dirt, and barely any distance between the two. While not much is known about the mountain, and the portals aren't opened enough times to investigate further, they're made use of by many creatures.
Home to Shadowstalkers, this dimension is incredibly dark, and only becomes more so at night. The creatures are somewhat weak compared to Michaels, and fear Nightstalkers, of which technically control this dimension. This is possible due to the Shadowstalkers' fear of the Dream Dimension residents, since they believe power above all else. Every dimension has a leader though, and while the Shadow Dimension Leader was originally similar in physical ability to the dark demons it calls it's peers, it managed to steal the Hand of Balance from King Michael's Throne Room and wish upon it's great world controlling might. While these actions go against their typical behavior, they were forced to go through with this plan devised by Ye Lwin. The wish of course, was to be an all-powerful being...
Some dimensions are just representations of real world events, or gateways to new areas that some monstruous creatures call home. The brotherhood the grammar school friend group shared let them create this yellow grassy dimension for their own enjoyment. While the center land is also home to birds, frogs, and other creatures of nature, a cave to the far left becomes the new home of Da Crew after the events of the first Michael's Quest.
Memories of happier times, as well as some times rather forgotten but still important to Da Crew's history are found in a passageway back to the overworld. Called the Chamber of Members by the inhabitants of this realm, physical manifestations of important historical events guard the way back, and a sacred ring lies near the end of the stone tunnel (Da Crew's Legacy). The tunnel also leads out to the doorway of the Ye Throne Room somehow, but the mysteries of the land are fairly vast.
This dimension is created from the nightmares of mortals. Anything dreamt becomes real in this world, but only by those in a slumber. Nightstalkers are the main inhabitants of this dimension, commanding and controlling the Shadow Dimension out of the Shadowstalker's fear of these more powerful creatures. Everything in the Dream Dimension has an otherworldly blueish glow to it, and the amount of bloom in the area makes it appear as if it really is a dream. Large spikey walls are erected in this world as well, of which one has a hole far into the land. This hole leads into a cave that the dimension's leader resides in, the one that commanded the Shadow Dimension Leader to work with them, as instructed by Ye Lwin.
It's worth noting that the Dream Dimension Leader is a Dream Bender, and such a creature can also be summoned with the Dream Catcher amulet. These creatures possess the Distortion Wave, Distort Reality, and Shadow Surge skills, as well as ANOTHER wave of dream energy that dispels from their bodies on death.
While this is a dimension that can be accessed from Mnt. Deminsin, it's seemingly just another entrance to The Land of The Weird...
Somewhat yellowish well-lit halls, without any walls. This structure seems to defy all logic, and is kept standing by the power of the Hand of Balance. While the wish granting staff that controls the balance of the universe once resided there, the Shadow Dimension Leader set up base there during their coordination with the Dream Dimension, as instructed of them by Ye Lwin. This was in reality all a plot to distract King Michael in an attempt to take out the Michaels once and for all.
Before this insanity though (including Ye Lwin taking the Hand of Balance in the first Michael's Quest), the halls were completely empty, and the main room toward the end of the sanctuary held the staff, unable to be pulled from the metal enclosure unless it was broken.
